BenQ has introduced the MA270S, a display aimed at Mac users, featuring a 27-inch IPS panel with 5120×2880 resolution. This resolution marks a significant upgrade from the 4K standard. Priced at ₹ 94,998, it is considerably less expensive than Apple’s Studio Display, which starts at ₹ 1,89,900. The MA270S includes a 70Hz refresh rate and specific Mac-centric color tuning, along with 90-watt Type-C ports suitable for powering devices like MacBooks and iPads.
The color accuracy of the MA270S is benchmarked against various Macs, including the MacBook Pro 13-inch powered by the M2 chip. It features a Visual Optimiser that adjusts brightness based on ambient lighting. The display is rated at 450-nits peak brightness, ensuring visibility indoors. Connectivity options include two HDMI 2.0 ports, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, and two USB-A ports.
While the MA270S lacks an integrated webcam and has less powerful speakers compared to the Apple Studio Display, it remains a strong contender for those seeking a high-quality 5K display at a lower price point.
