Amazon is planning a return to the smartphone market more than a decade after its Fire Phone failed.
The Fire Phone was first introduced in 2014. It was intended to compete with Apple and Samsung. The device was discontinued in about a year. Jeff Bezos directly oversaw the Fire Phone project. The Fire Phone is considered one of Amazon’s highest-profile flops.
