Canva is launching its AI 2.0 update to enhance productivity and streamline workflows. Co-founder and CEO Melanie Perkins highlighted the evolution from an early AI prototype, Canvas Chef, to a comprehensive productivity suite. The update introduces conversational design capabilities, iterative editing, memory-based functionality, and layered object intelligence. New connectors with platforms like Google’s Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Microsoft 365, and Slack will facilitate integration.
The research preview of Canva AI 2.0 is currently rolling out. Perkins emphasized the platform’s potential as a “true creative partner,” capable of generating multiple content types from a single prompt. The Memory Library will adapt to user preferences, enhancing personalization over time.
Canva’s recent announcements follow significant growth, with over 265 million monthly active users and 31 million paid subscribers. The company reported $4 billion in annualized revenue, with a notable increase in its B2B business. Canva is recognized as the third most used AI product globally, with its AI tools utilized over 27 billion times.
Perkins stated that Canva aims to unify fragmented workflows into a single accessible platform.
