Crisil shares increase 6% as net profit rises 46% to Rs 233 crore

CRISIL shares rose over 6 percent on Friday after the company reported a 46 percent year-on-year increase in net profit to Rs 233 crore. The stock extended gains for the third consecutive session and touched an intra-day high of Rs 4,383 per share on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), up 6.22 percent. The company posted a net profit of Rs 233.3 crore for the period under review, compared with Rs 160 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue from operations rose 30 percent to Rs 1,058 crore from Rs 813.2 crore a year earlier. EBITDA increased 37.3 percent to Rs 318.6 crore as against Rs 232 crore in the corresponding period last year. The EBITDA margin stood at 30.1 percent compared with 28.5 percent a year ago. The company also announced its first interim dividend of Rs 9 per share.
