Google is embracing the agentic era, with CEO Sundar Pichai announcing that 75% of all new code at the company is now AI-generated and approved by engineers, up from 50% last fall. In a post on ‘The Keyword’, Pichai highlighted the shift towards “truly agentic workflows,” where engineers manage fully autonomous digital task forces. This announcement coincides with the launch of Google Cloud Next26, showcasing innovations in cloud computing and AI.
Pichai noted that the Gemini Enterprise system has experienced 40% growth in paid monthly active users. He emphasized the transformation in organizational roles, stating, “This is an incredible shift, but it comes with complexity.” Google has introduced the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform to enhance connectivity between data, people, and goals. Recently, a complex code migration was completed six times faster than last year, utilizing the Antigravity platform for autonomous AI agents.
