India’s defence acquisition council approved proposals worth 2.38 trillion rupees ($25 billion) on Friday. The approval includes the purchase of medium transport aircraft. It also covers Russian S-400 surface-to-air missile systems. Additionally, the council cleared acquisitions of remotely piloted strike aircraft. The government confirmed these approvals in a statement.
The defence acquisition council’s approvals involve substantial military procurement actions. These will impact markets related to defence equipment and international arms trade.
